چکیده

This article discusses the geochemical and petrological evolution of São José do Campestre granite complex (SJCgr), last Neoarchean plutonic event so far described in massif NE Brazil. We report field, petrographic, zircon U-Pb dating, whole rock mineral chemistry for representative SJCgr samples. Laser ablation data indicate that emplacement took place at 2664 ± 13 Ma. The rocks comprising have relatively well-preserved primary textures fabrics compositions varying from gabbro to syenogranite. Major trace element contents reveal a metaluminous, calc-alkaline through transitional alkaline signature, LILE- LREE-enriched series analogous late Archean sanukitoid modern arc granitoid. is envisaged as follows: (1st) partial melting metasomatized mantle (2.5–3.0 GPa, ~85–102 km, 1,000–1,200°C), generating basaltic andesitic magma; (2nd) fractional crystallization (FC) olivine or lower crustal depth, leading parental magmas magmatic series; (3rd) 40–15% FC gabbro-norite monzonite cumulates (400–600 MPa, 15–23 km). shares similarities with post-collisional granitoids and, thus, would represent episode mantle-derived magma Northeastern

Dating of Precambrian Metasedimentary Rocks and Timing of their Metamorphism in the Soursat Metamorphic Complex (NW IRAN): Using LA–ICP-MS, U–Pb Dating of Zircon and Monazite

Soursat Metamorphic Complex (SMC) in west of Takab city is one of the polyphase metamorphic terrenes in northern Sanandaj-Sirjan metamorphic belt of Iran. The SMC composed mainly of metasedimentary rocks associated with granitic intrusions. Based on metamorphic rocks, two metamorphic phases could be separate in the complex. M1 is representative of regional metamorphisms which varies from greens...

geochemistry, petrology and zircon u-pb dating for bibi maryam granitoid, ne of nehbandan, east of iran

bibi maryam granitoid body with about 5 km2 has intruded into ophiolite mélange complex in sistan suture zone, in east of iran. thermal effects of this body on the host rocks show that this activity occurred after emplacement of ophiolite mélange. this intrusive body with general northwest – southeast trend is mainly tonalite-quartz diorite but there is a minor unit as dykes of granodiorite in ...

40Ar/39Ar and ion microprobe U^Pb zircon dating of the Erongo, Damaraland, Namibia

The Erongo subvolcanic center in Namibia is the largest composite, bimodal complex in the Mesozoic Etendeka igneous province of Namibia. This study of 40Ar/39Ar and high spatial resolution U^Pb zircon dating demonstrates that emplacement of the various igneous units at Erongo took place within a time span equivalent to or shorter than geochronologically resolvable age differences (ca. 2 Ma), an...

Pre-Variscan evolution of the Western Tatra Mountains: new insights from U-Pb zircon dating.

In situ LA-MC-ICP-MS U-Pb zircon geochronology combined with cathodoluminescence imaging were carried out to determine protolith and metamorphic ages of orthogneisses from the Western Tatra Mountains (Central Western Carpathians). The metamorphic complex is subdivided into two units (the Lower Unit and the Upper Unit). Orthogneisses of the Lower Unit are mostly banded, fine- to medium-grained r...
